Through 2011 Villa picked up some real solid distributors that have helped us reach all over the United States with streched arms. We will update on where to purchase our materials throughout the US, as updating on current & future projects & products.

Once again Villa Root Barrier wants to impress the durability of polystyrene material in our pre-cut and lineal root barrier lines. Polystyrene has been used for close to 30 years and is still going strong to this day. We just find it amusing how one of the people who brought this root barrier into the industry now is claiming its inferior & don't work after promoting a product for for 25 years. The root barrier lines Villa manufacturers meets and exceeds all required specifications on rib height & distance between ribs, thickness and type of material. Being the manufacturer we are not limited, we can and will make what the City or the landscape arhitects want you to use, no restrictions to lengths, depths and thickness or types of material.

We had some very large projects go out of state last month. There was a Texas project that used 424 rolls of 48" x 20' lineal polystyrene and yes they were happy with the product & service. Also 2 different projects in South Carolina one was a highway projects that we have send 700 rolls of 24" x 20' already to and still 600 more of 36" x 20' to go. The other one is a cemetary that is using 210 rolls of 18" x 20' and another 210 to go in the next week or so. We will be getting pictures on the website as well of these projects. Just to let you know all the material that was furnished was made from polystyrene. Villa stands behind polystyrene/polyethlene and polyproplene and all the materials we manufacture. If you're looking for quality, honesty, integrity look to Villa Root Barrier for all your tree planting, grass pave & erosion control needs.

Wow sorry we have not gotten back with you on updated root barrier & grass & gravel pave projects. We have alot to tell you about whats been going on with the manufactured root control barrier by VIlla and the grass & gravel pave products by Invisible Structures.

Lets get started with the projects that have been going on across the US. Over in Menifee at the Shop's Villa lineal root barrier was used in numerous applications for tree root protection. In Palm Springs at the USD Opps Center 18" x 20' rolled root barrier made of polystyrene have continued to be used on all the new tree planting. Brea at the Sports Park the precut polystyrene 18" x 120" root barrier has went in.

As for some of the Villa Root barrier panels we have shipped over 2000 pieces of 18" x 24" to Washington, also the Winchester streetscape project in Temecula is using the 18" x 24" Villa panel as well. The Enclave in Corona is still moving along with KB Homes, this proect has been going now for over a year and thousand of root barrier panels have been installed.

As for bio barrier Gateway Plaza is using 19" x 100', Morgan Hill project Parks & Corriddor is a on going project using both 19" & 29" x 100'. Bio barrie has been a product that VIlla has been selling for years, please check with us before your next purchase.

Now for the grass pave product that Villa distributes for ISI what a month for this material. Point Loma has continued with the headstone markers. The Windset Farms project in Santa Maria is wraping up and wasn't nearly the size it started to be. But another great job the Navy Lodge in Coranada used approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of grass pave. Vintage at Snowberry in Riverside used about 3000 sq. ft. These are just a few of the grass pave projects, if you need information or samples on this material let Villa know.

The H2O Oxnard project is starting to install the gravel pave they ordered, this was a project with several different colors tan, grey & terra cotta. Another project using tan gravel pave was the CSUN Student Recreation in Northridge. In Pacific Palisades 2000 sq. ft of grey gravel pave was installed.

Until next time, thanks for your support.

Can you believe its October already, and what a year it has been. We have seen many peaks & valleys but thanks to you this year has had more peaks.

Here are a few of the projects that went this month for root barrier & grass pave products. At Birch Elementary the polyethylene rolls were installed for 18" x 20" lineal roll application. Over in Irvine at the Woodbridge High School more of the ethylene rolls were used. The Trabuco road streetscape project there has been approximately 1 mile of the Villa root barrier panel used in the true 24" x 24" sections. This job is over 2 miles of root barrier so still more to go. In Santa Clarita the Soledad Canyon Rehab project has continued on, this was the 4th shipment totaling 2000 pieces of the 24" x 24" panel. The Mission Center road project in San Diego is using the Villa 36" x 24" panels, over 2000 pieces were shipped last month.

As for the grass & gravel pave products from ISI there are numerous jobs going again, a few of them are the P&E Wellness Center in Willington used 3150 sq ft of grasspave. A small housing project in San Marcos with Lennar Communities. The Point Loma National Cemetery.

Well until next time we say thank you again from the Villa Root Barrier crew.

As we approach the last quarter of the year we are glad to see that construction & building is beginning to pickup. There has been some great projects on all the materials we manufacture & distribute. Here are a few of them. The Kaiser Hospital in Anaheim has installed another 4000 sq. ft. of tan gravelpave, then there was 1000 sq. ft. of black gravelpave for City of Pasadena.

As for the grasspave we have installations going all over Southern California. The DT's in Glendale 2300 sq. ft. Waldorf School in Costa Mesa used 2500 sq. ft. 5700 sq. ft. for the St. Elizebeth Church in Carlsbad and finally the Windset Farms project is a go but has been reduced from the original 60,000 sq. ft. to about 10,000. Will get some pictures soon.

The Villa Ethylene rolled root barrier has been received with praise on the quality workmanship compared to competitors. This rolled material is a true 3/4" 90 degree rib with the landlocks attached to rib and a top safety lip. Culver Blvd. in Los Angeles 2000 lineal feet, the El Greco building in Santa Fe Springs the Villa ethylene rolled root barrier is being used.

As for the styrenerolled root barrier material the Cabrillo marina used another 135 rolls of 24" x 20'. This was a project with over 10,000 lineal feet. The Walmart in Oxnard was another nice job using polystrene root barrier approximately 4000 lineal feet. Another 150 rolls out to the Vallarta Shopping Center.

Well I will sign off now and once again want to say thank you for all your support to Villa Landscape Products.

NEW VACUUM FORMED ROLLS

Villa Root Barrier manufactures the most complete line of root control products in the Industry with proven results.

If you are looking for root barriers look no further, we have a true 24" wide panel with 90 degree ribs - male/female connector for easy installation if you prefer panels.

Villa also offers their new vacuum formed polyethylene rolls with a true 90 degree rib - ground stabilizers attached so no shifting with the soil, also a flexible top safety lip for all the protection a root barrier should offer both to trees, environment & pedestrians.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cIyJ14_pTEA/TgJZzAAoGuI/AAAAAAAAABI/OfHlpDTmj9w/s320/24%255B1%255D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5621154017622629090" />

The polystyrene roll that has been proven for close to 30 years and is still working to this day. This can be compared to a root barrier panel but in 20' sections, or cut to sizes needed. Also the Villa 2' root barrier panel has been in high demand shipping to Cities and construction jobs across the US. A few of the projects with this root barrier are the La Pata Sports Park in San Clemente, a large residential project going in Irvine Altura, using both 18x24 & 24x24 Villa root barrier panels.

There were some nice bio barrier jobs as well, Villa has been a distributor for bio barrier for close to 20 years and now has better buying power to pass on to our customers through Fiberweb. The Landings was one of the projects with 19 x 100 bio barrier was used, plus a KB project in Murietta.

As for the grasspave product from ISI what a year so far, we have went through 5 full trucks of material, Monrovia High School 42,600 sq. ft. Harry Bridges continues to go on, this job has been going for close to 3 years and has used well over 10,000 lineal feet of Villa root barrier rolls and now we just shipped 50,000 sq. ft. of grasspave2. Its almost all down & ready for sodding pictures next month. The Great Park in Irvine used 6062 sq. ft.this will be a on going job with other contractors and more grasspave.

We all have waited a long time for the tides to change for the better during the worst recession most of us have ever seen and once again Villa thanks all of you for your support in keeping this company alive. Root barriers have been sold in a wide range of locations and for many varied applications, we know its going to be a great year.

Root barriers were developed approximately 40 years ago, who knew what an important part of tree planting they would become. As Villa rolls into its 20th year of being a root barrier manufacturer with the most complete line of root barriers under one name, we are proud to say thank you to all the architects and long standing customers & cities that have stood behind the Villa Root Barrier line.

ROOT BARRIERS & GRAVELPAVE

What a month Villa Root Barrier had, we knew it was coming & wow. "The gravel color, the angles on the surfaces of the stones, the number of surfaces, and the void space between the pieces, all contribute to the mitigation."

Gravelpave2 will also promote the growth of the newly planted Paperback Maple trees in the Memorial. Gravelpave2, as well as other permeable surfaces, allow water, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and nutrients to transfer easily to and from the trees' root systems. "Promoting a healthy root system for new and existing vegetation is an advantage of Gravelapve2,” says Wright. The Paperback Maples also benefit from a specially mixed bed they were planted in. For each tree there is a twenty-foot radius of a mixture of stone, sand, and topsoil, extending out from the trunk, under the Gravelpave2. The unique bedding will help ensure a thriving plant. The Paperback Maple was chosen by Beckman and Kaseman for its unique red/brown paper-textured bark and for the fact that the tree is late to lose leaves in the fall. The bark will ad contrasting color and texture to a gray winter day.

The Gravelpave2 system was augmented with a cement binder to stabilize the aggregate inside the ring and grid matrix, and then topped off with up to a half-inch of the unbound Cibola Gold and Cadet Black colored granite gravel. No binder is necessary for ordinary Gravelpave2 installations. The binder was added at the request of the United States Access Board, a federal agency dedicated to seeing that the disabled and wheelchair bound have equal access to public buildings. Beckman, Kaseman, and The Pentagon Memorial Fund Members invited the United States Access Board to collaborate in the design process on the aspects of accessibility. Modifications to the design were also made at the request of the Access Board regarding the width of the hard surface granite-paver paths and height and placement of the walls. Prior to the Memorial installation, many Access Board Members were on-site for field testing of a small installed bed of the Gravelpave2 system. Gravelpave2 has been independently tested to meet ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessibility requirements.

"Originally, the designers were looking at a custom colored Gravelpave2," says Kevin Cobaugh, Vice President of Sales at Invisible Structures. Invisible Structures investigated speckled coloring and a pattern that would match the imported decorative gravel fill. Once the test bed was installed, the design team decided there was not enough of the Gravelpave2 rings that would show, and therefore a custom color was not necessary. Ultimately, gray colored Gravelpave2 was installed. “The gray looks great,” continues Cobaugh, “It blends in with the aggregate chosen for the Memorial.”

“It [Gravelpave2] works great for what it’s supposed to do,” says John Dingus, Jr of Davey Tree Expert Company, Site Installer for the Memorial. “Under the product is a 57 stone base course for drainage and under all of what you see is 12,000 tons of material.”

56,000 square feet of Gravelpave2 was installed at the Pentagon Memorial by Davey Tree Experts Company. “Some of the Gravelpave2 was precut at our yard [Chantilly, VA] but most of it was fit onsite. Custom fit,” says Dingus.

“The most difficult part was the ten percent cement mixture,” Says Dingus. “We couldn’t premix it. It had to be done on site.” Dubrook Concrete, also of Chantilly, VA, was brought in to mix the gravel, water, and cement to fill the Gravelpave2 rings level to the top. The surface was then topped off with up to one-half inch of the loose gravel.

The 10% cement binder mix and the base course were not the only unique installation aspects to this design. Under the “Age Lines” sections of the Memorial Units, the base course of the Gravelpave2 is concrete. Normal anchors (eight inch ring shank nails and washer) were not sufficient – the Gravelpave2 was anchored down with threaded bolts and secured to the concrete base. The areas not in the Age Lines, used the aforementioned 57 stone as a base and the normal eight inch ring shank nails and washers.

Invisible Structures has two more unique installations at the Pentagon: A small patch of Gravelpave2 as the utility road for a ceremonial cannon, and 22,000 square feet of Grasspave2 (a grass surfaced porous pavement) for the helicopter landing pads on top of the Pentagon’s Remote Delivery Facility.

Company Information:

ENCORE SUITES AT WYNN LAS VEGAS

Villa's product used again on a high profile job.
